Sand Meadow Farm LLC, owned by Andrea and Steven Barber, is a boutique farm located in the horse-friendly hamlet of Mendon, just south of the city of Rochester in the picturesque Finger Lakes region of New York State.

Our true passion is Icelandic horses. We have been deeply involved with the breed for over 25 years and are active members of the United States Icelandic Horse Congress. Andrea is President Emeritus of the USIHC and a past US Breeding Leader. Andrea and Steve are also founding members of their local regional club, The Saint Skutla Icelandic Horse Club.

At Sand Meadow Farm, we are devoted to the Icelandic horse. Quality is far more important to us than quantity. We want to be proud of every horse carrying our farm's name. We breed high-quality horses with an emphasis on the exceptional character the breed is known for. Our sales horses are either from our own breeding program or horses we have specially selected for their character and talents. We also take select horses for consignment sale. In addition, we offer lessons for those interested in learning to ride this unique breed, and we are always happy to introduce newcomers to Icelandic horses.
