Sand Meadow Farm owned by Andrea and Steven Barber is a small hobby farm located in the horse friendly hamlet of Mendon, just South of the city of Rochester in the picturesque Finger Lakes region of New York State. It is our own little oasis in these busy times.

Although we both have other careers, our true passion is Icelandic horses.  Steve and Andrea are active members of the United States Icelandic Horse Congress. Andrea is President Emeritus of the USIHC and member of several committees. Both Andrea and Steve are also founding members of their regional club, The Saint Skutla Icelandic Horse Club which encompasses Western and Central New York.  Andrea also is the Executive Editor of Tolt News, a quarterly magazine for Icelandic horse enthusiasts while Steve is the advertising manager.

At Sand Meadow Farm we are devoted to the Icelandic horse. Quality is far more important to us than quantity. We want to be proud of any horse bearing the name of our farm. Although, Sand Meadow is not a “sale barn” we occasionally have horses for sale. And we always are happy to introduce newcomers to the breed.

Sand Meadow Farm is not only home to our herd of Icelandic horses. Our farm is also home to our Black Russian Terrier, Tasha and our Komondor, Niea.
